We Day is growing, and we’re thrilled to share our huge announcement with you: We Day is coming to Minnesota! But the excitement doesn’t stop there—The Jonas Brothers were on site with us this morning to make the announcement, and to share the news that they will be performing at We Day Minnesota on October 8, 2013!
The Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum artistswere joined by award-winning actress and activist Mia Farrow, Free The Children co-founder Marc Kielburger, and a crowd of 600 ecstatic students at Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis for the announcement.
“We’ve been involved since our first We Day performance in 2009 in Toronto, and the memory of the energy the 18,000 youth who came to that stadium is still with us today,” said Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. “What we remember most is that the kids were just as excited to see the bands as they were to see world leaders and activists—that’s not something you see every day.”
We Day Minnesota will bring together 18,000 students and supporters on October 8, 2013 at the Xcel Energy Center and will be the second We Day event hosted in the U.S. following We Day Seattle on March 27, 2013. In addition to the Jonas Brothers, Former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev and Mia Farrow will speak to the electrified crowd at our first We Day Minnesota, amongst other world-renowned speakers and performers soon to be announced.
We Day Minnesota co-chairs Dean and Hutton Phillips, Commissioner of Education Brenda Cassellius, Superintendent Bernadeia Johnson and others were also present at the announcement to talk about how students can get involved. They stated their commitment to making We Day Minnesota and We Act available to middle and high school students across the state.

We Day Minnesota and the We Act program is free of charge to the thousands of students and educators in attendance at the event and state-wide, thanks to the generous support of sponsors General Mills, Phillips Family Foundation, Otto Bremer Foundation, Bremer Bank and Carlson Family Foundation.
